A sailboat is an adventure, not a cruise ship. Life aboard is much like traveling in a motorhome — self-sufficient, eco-conscious, and genuinely adventurous. You won't find luxury hotel amenities here. What you'll find is a real connection to the ocean, a serene atmosphere, and a new paradise every morning.
The Space
Lady Lou has two private cabins. The main cabin offers a double bed, ensuite bathroom and good storage. Everything is minimalist but well organized — there's a place for everything, and the boat runs smoothly because of it.
The cockpit and deck are your living room, dining room, and hammock all in one. Most of your waking hours happen outdoors, which is exactly the point.
Energy and Water
Lady Lou runs on solar panels for electricity. Fresh water for showers is limited — we ask guests to keep showers short. Drinking water is always available and filtered on board, so you can refill your bottle freely. This isn't a constraint — it's part of living in harmony with the sea.
Eco-Conscious Living
- Plastic-free policy — we ask guests to bring as little single-use plastic as possible and take back any waste
- Reef-safe sunscreen — required on board to protect the coral reefs we swim in every day
- Waste reduction — we minimize environmental impact in everything we do
Physical Requirements
A stay on Lady Lou is moderately physical but low-risk. Getting on and off the speedboat transfer, stepping into the dinghy, and snorkeling all require basic mobility and comfort in the water. Life jackets are always available. Being able to float comfortably is recommended for all guests.
Payment
We accept cash (USD) on board, and WISE for bank transfers. A 20% deposit confirms your booking — the rest is paid on arrival. We operate in a remote area with no banks, so plan accordingly.
Is It For Everyone?
Honestly — no. If you need a private bathroom in a four-star room with room service and air conditioning, there are other options in San Blas. But if you're ready to slow down, connect with the ocean, embrace simplicity, and wake up somewhere new every day — this is exactly the right place for you.
"After three days on board, you forget what a hotel even is. The boat becomes home. The sea becomes normal. And you don't want to leave."
Ready for the real thing?
Lady Lou has a private ensuite cabin — the most comfortable way to sail San Blas.
